Arijit Sharma, a 'crane specialist', posted in Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, is doing research on Siberian birds and their migratory habits. On a visit to Siberia,, he and his teammates decide to ring a family of endangered Siberian Cranes so they can be spotted when they travel to India. To everyone's surprise, the baby crane ' Comrade' arrives in Bharatpur but without his parents. Arijit's teenaged sister, Medha and his young assistant, Dariya, on the look out for the Siberian Cranes in the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, come across many tell-tale signs that indicate all is not well with the birds. And then one day Comrade, too, goes missing from the sanctuary! Has he beencaptured for his meat or the metal ring? A racy fiction.
